One of the infectious diseases which are known for breaking the human body from inside is the ‘Dengue fever’. It is caused by the dengue virus. One can identify the victim of dengue through the following systems: measles which is somewhat similar to skin rash, fever, muscle pain, headache and joint pain. In the early stage of dengue disease, a person starts suffering from low counting of blood platelets, fever which is hemorrhagic, leakage of blood plasma or syndrome of dengue shock which causes low blood pressure.
Dengue is one of the diseases which are caused by the bite of various species of mosquitoes. Dengue fever is also known by the name of ‘break bone fever’. There are four different types of virus, the infection usually of one type give lifelong immunity to the type which is similar but gives short immunity to other one. Subsequently, different types of infection cause several complications. The prevention for the disease is cured by reducing the number of mosquitoes and their habitat and the prevention from bites. There is no prescribed vaccine available for the disease.
The treatment available to cure the diseases is very supportive. Treatment can be done through intravenous or oral rehydration which is used at the time of any moderate disease. From the time of 1960s, there’s been an increment in dengue fever cases. There are 50-100 millions of people infected from the dengue fever. From the year 1779, the early stage of the disease had been recognized but the transmission of dengue fever was elucidated in 20th centaury in its early stage. From the time of Second World War, dengue had become the major disease for about 110 countries. There are vaccines available which help in attacking the virus directly besides eliminating the number of mosquitoes.
